Founded in 2005, Jouf University is located in Al-Jouf in Saudi Arabia. It remains the only university serving the Al-Jouf Region.

Jouf University has 10 faculties spread across its main campus in Sakaka and a number of other colleges on various sub-campuses, some of them being former separate community colleges. The subject areas are: education, pharmacy, science, applied natural sciences, science and literature (Qariyaat campus), dentistry, Shariah law, medicine, humanitarian and administrative sciences, applied medical sciences, science and literature, engineering, and computer and information sciences.

For the medical colleges, the medium of instruction in undergraduate programmes is mostly English. However other subjects such as law and Islamic studies are taught in Arabic. Students can receive English language support from the languages department of the university.

There¡¯s an Innovation And Entrepreneurship Centre, which is designed to nurture and incubate pioneering projects from students. For a (maximum) period of three years, office and workspace is provided for various start-up projects as well as training workshops, guidance and direction. To join, students need to pass the qualification course and submit a feasibility study and project work plan.

There¡¯s also a Skills Development Centre, which is one of the university's developmental projects to improve the performance of the university staff in all fields. The centre is equipped with six training rooms and training halls.
