About the Role

You will lead an innovative program of education, both in the classroom and in developing leadership in the area. You will also have a strong commitment to research and scholarship in statistics education.

Your responsibilities will include:


	Effective preparation and delivery of lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate level and assessment of that material, including as Subject Coordinator.
	Proactive development of subject materials and delivery, including the use of modern technology and online resources as appropriate.
	The contribution to knowledge through scholarship, refereed publications and presentations.
	Active supervision of students.
	Presentation of research to the public to elevate public awareness of educational and scientific developments and promote critical enquiry and public debate within the community.


Who We Are Looking For

You will have demonstrated and/or growing excellence in education. You will be adept at teaching both large undergraduate classes and advanced graduate-level applied mathematics subjects, collaborating effectively with colleagues and contributing to administrative tasks. You will develop research directions and scholarship relevant to statistics education.

You will also have:


	A PhD or equivalent research higher degree in statistics or a closely related discipline.
	Demonstrated education excellence in relation to career stage.
	Demonstrated potential for research and scholarship.
	The ability to interact well with other academic staff and to contribute to the administration of a large school

The Role?

We are seeking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher to work on a SEAI-funded research project entitled ‘Engineering the next generation of efficient? electrocatalysts for the production of renewable hydrogen: A sustainable approach using electrolysis.’ The candidate is expected to develop and optimise the formation of earth abundant electrocatalysts for the formation of renewable hydrogen, focusing on both the hydrogen evolution reaction and various oxidation half-cell reactions. Another important element of the research work is the design and evaluation of electrolytic cells that can produce high purity and renewable hydrogen.

Salary

Post Doctoral Researcher Level 1 (2024): €44,847 p.a. pro-rata (1 point)

This includes development of teaching materials, delivery of lectures/tutorials or other innovative teaching and learning strategies, examinations and placement education with cultural context. This position will have a focus on the Medicine (MD Program and may also contribute to multidisciplinary placement education.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Completion of 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience
	Evidence of making a contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level, including involvement in curriculum development and teaching methodology
	Experience applying innovative approaches to pedagogy and/or curriculum design
	Capability to engage with e-learning platforms for teaching purposes
	Demonstrated experience in communicating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, key stakeholders, and their representatives to achieve positive outcomes

About the Role

The Lecturer in Rural and Remote Health (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health) will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the College’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander topics. This position will be responsible for making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching and placement education with cultural context.
