About the Role?

The Research Associate will drive the research efforts within UniSA STEM, contributing to innovative solutions for the 'Enhancing the RAN’s Undersea Surveillance Minimum Viable Capability' project. Reporting to a Professorial Lead, this role will support critical advancements in Defence and National Security, specifically by developing mathematical and AI-driven models to optimise the deployment of uncrewed surface vehicles for undersea surveillance in varying threat environments.

The role collaborates with UniSA researchers and external partners to drive advancements in AI for undersea surveillance. ?

	Undertake research under limited supervision to achieve project grant outcomes according to project milestones?
	Develop Bayesian models to infer target detection probabilities, accounting for variables such as platform speed, target noise, depth profiles, and environmental parameters
	Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance user interaction through advanced NLP methods, enabling natural language enquiries
	Prepare or contribute to journal publications, conference, and seminar papers
	Provide advice to post graduate students in the appointee’s area of expertise
	Contribute to the Unit teaching activities, including developing research-related materials


?Essential Skills and Experience?


	A doctorate or postgraduate degree in a Science or Engineering field relevant to the research area
	NV1 security clearance or eligibility to obtain it
	Research experience with a focus on Bayesian modelling
	Proven record of high-quality research outputs, published and presented in relevant forums
	Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through publications, reports, and collaboration with external partners, colleagues, and students

The Analytical Services Laboratory, based in the School of Science at the University of Greenwich at Medway, seeks a skilled, dedicated laboratory technician to assist in the preparation of commercial samples for inorganic chemical and mineralogical testing. Applicants will be expected to perform a range of tasks within the laboratory including the reception and labelling of samples, the preparation of samples and their analysis by instrumental techniques such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS CHN, XRD and XRF (with training provided as required). The successful candidate will deliver consistent, high quality, accurate work and maintain good laboratory practices at all times. The Department of Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London is looking to appoint a lecturer to support its research and teaching. The Department has a record of outstanding research and was ranked 17th overall among UK computer science departments in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021, Times Higher Education ranking). We have very strong research groups in the areas of Intelligent Systems, Machine Learning, Algorithms and Complexity, and Programming Languages and Systems. It has also made recent appointments in Quantum Computing and Software Engineering, and there are strong collaborations with the Information Security Department.

The Department is committed to delivering outstanding teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and consistently achieves excellent results in graduate prospects metrics (93% graduates in graduate-level employment or further study within 15 months, Guardian ranking for 2025). Our software engineering teaching has been hailed as a ‘best practice’ example by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Computer Science and welcome applications that would complement and/or strengthen our existing areas of research. Graduates of this program have forged successful careers in theatre, film, and television as actors, writers, and directors, with many securing spots in prestigious Bachelor programs at WAAPA, NIDA, and VCA. The Role

In this role, you will bring your skills and experience in teaching acting to guide students through a comprehensive training program that prepares them for theatre and screen work. You’ll direct both in-class projects and public productions, providing hands-on, real-world experience. Your expertise in the performing arts industry will ensure that the course reflects best practices, while your ability to work with diverse age groups and experience levels will be key to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Key Criteria


	A completed Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or the ability to complete the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment by January 2025. Other relevant tertiary qualifications are beneficial but not required.
	A proven track-record as a teacher or actor-trainer in a formal educational setting.
	Demonstrated capacity to develop, coordinate and review teaching curriculum in acting and performance at a tertiary level in relation to VET best practice.
	Demonstrated experience in working efficiently and confidently with teaching-related administration such as curriculum documentation, Canvas or similar learning and teaching technology, assessment management, or producing creative projects with young artists.
	Evidenced experience as a practitioner in the local or national industry.
	Demonstrated capacity to engage with the performing arts sector locally and nationally to enhance the quality of the student experience.
	Demonstrated ability to draw on lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to enrich curriculum and engage meaningfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring culturally respectful and authentic contributions to teaching and learning.
