The entry criteria for universities should not include a minimum or maximum age. One cannot assume that a person under 18 years lacks the academic and personal maturity required to undertake a degree course.

At London Metropolitan University in 2003, an offer was made to a 15-year-old to study for the LLB (honours) degree. He turned 16 shortly after the commencement of the course and took his final examinations in May 2006 at the age of 18. He was awarded a first-class degree and was the joint winner of the City of London Recorder' s prize awarded to the best performing law graduate/s.

Considering that we had a large number of law graduates of a diverse age range, this student's achievement was highly creditable.
