Bite back at bite-sized 2

To blame the death of intellect on modularity is interesting but wrong. The culprit is the semester. Forcing the curriculum and assessment into 15-week chunks leads to atomisation and discontinuity. There is nothing wrong with year-long modules and credit accumulation. De Montfort and a number of other universities are desemesterising but retaining modularity. We may reserve bite-sized learning for profesional development courses and for community courses as part of widening participation.
