As a member of Amnesty International and a supporter of human rights, I am sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, but why do certain members of the University and College Union limit their focus to Israel? What about all the other countries guilty of human rights abuses? Should we boycott the universities of all these countries? No. Universities are one of the keys to progress and freedom in a society, and shared knowledge is a global good. Singling out one country, and asking to silence that country's key thinkers, seems a strange and counterproductive way of protecting human rights. Join Amnesty instead.
