Week after week, THE employs an Anglo- and London-centric perspective of the landscape it surveys. Witness the Diary, where it is routine to find that 50-60 per cent of the cultural activity covered is London-based. Or consider Campus round-up: 40 stories in the past three weeks; 47 institutions named; four mentions of universities outside England. Given that more than one-fifth of UK higher education institutions are not in England, a suspicious mind might be concerned. Can THE dispel these fears? Perhaps "the regions" are just not spending enough on public relations?
