Graduate info is available

Though I welcome Conservative Shadow Universities Minister Adam Afriyie's desire for "more and better information to help students choose degree courses that are most likely to lead to a graduate level job" ("Tories promise to make practical route work", 2 October), I can save him ?5 million of taxpayers' money.

A new website is not needed. This information is already in the public domain, and has been for some years. Much of it is on prospects.ac.uk (the official graduate careers site) and on ucas.com (the official undergraduate admissions/applications site) and many careers advisers at schools, colleges and universities know where to find this information.

That is not to say that more cannot be done and the information better publicised, but a little research and a few conversations with those who work in the careers services would help focus the thinking of the Shadow Minister's team.
