Caron Dann (From where I sit, 2 July) has every right to be irritated by the misuse of English by her students. No one who values the accurate use of language could be anything less than disturbed by terms such as "Dogma's".
But as she says, however much hard work she puts in to correct matters, little progress is made. It may be best, to paraphrase Edmund Gosse, to let sleeping dogmata lie and live with the resulting stigmata. At least her students manage to call the discipline media studies, not "mediums studies".
