In your story on the student disruption of a conference advocating closer ties between universities and industry ("Protesters disrupt business-link conference", 14 May), you first reported the campaign slogan of the protesters, and then gave considerable space to comments from five different sources supporting the conference's line.
If the "balance" of your report reflects the degree to which views that challenge such links are aired, perhaps it is little wonder that students end up feeling the need to occupy conference platforms in order to ensure that their counter-cultural arguments are heard.
