In a recent story, I am cited as saying that Bill Brewer of the University of Warwick is co-editing with me a collection of essays on Ayn Rand's thought ("Ayn Rand revival gathers pace in US universities, despite detractors", 16 July). I never said that. As I told your reporter, I am co-editing a volume for Wiley-Blackwell, Ayn Rand: A Companion to Her Works and Thought (2010), but my co-editor is Gregory Salmieri. Brewer is not involved in that project. Rather, as I said, we are co-organising a workshop on "Perception, Consciousness and Reference". Among the 20 or so participants are some philosophers whose views on these topics have been influenced by aspects of Rand's philosophy.
