Sorry to poop Paul Chapman's paramotoring party, but it takes the biscuit for selfishness ("Off-piste", 16 July). He cannot have spared a thought for those beneath him, including many seeking quiet corners for tranquillity and spiritual recuperation. Low-power, high-noise paramotors now intrude into such places, even our back gardens. Their low speeds and rambling flight paths inflict pain for even longer than Clarksonesque boy racers or motorbike howlers. Surely an academic from the Glasgow School of Art should have some sensitivity for nature and consideration for his fellows? By contrast, I recently watched an unpowered paraglider follow the Snowdon Horseshoe for an hour - now there's true skill and courage, with no carbon emissions.
