I suspect his students can hear the sneer in Gary Day's voice (Columnist, February 16) as loudly as we can, but I am sure it is more intimidating for them, whereas it is just tiresome for us. I can only hope that his students are not too scared of him to vote with their feet.
Day is obviously not suited to paddling in the shallows of De Montfort; I am sure he is destined to engage with much deeper minds, or is perhaps lying in wait for a more rarefied ivory tower. In the meantime, perhaps he could consider doing something wonderful for his students and leave them to be taught by others.
