Has multiculturalism become a topic on which most sociologists need to express their views anonymously? You published the views of six sociologists on whether multiculturalism is under threat in the UK, and four of these were anonymous (Opinion, March 17). Is that at the request of the sociologists?
If so, it might explain why, as reported in Sara Wajid's article, some Muslim academics think that their non-Muslim colleagues will not engage in discussions about matters such as the cartoons affair.
