The price of market lingo

I originally thought your headline "Watch this space: pressing deadlines may see prospectuses without prices" ( January) might have included the word "prices" just for alliterative effect. But no, there it was again in paragraph two: the government is "pushing its fee cap rise through Parliament with a view to enabling prospectuses to list prices".

So, tuition fees become "prices" and students "customers" who buy a degree like it was a commodity on a shop shelf.
