Unsatisfying survey 3

There is a major omission in your student satisfaction ratings - there is no reference to the smaller higher education colleges represented by the Standing Conference of Principals. Many of these, such as my own institution, have done exceptionally well in the national survey of student satisfaction.

I believe that smaller institutions will always score well because we take great pride in our learning and teaching, making students the centre of our work through the strong community base to which your leader refers ("Size matters, status doesn't", September 23). It would be good to see that recognised in a comprehensive listing. Status and size both seem to matter when it comes to the compilation of league tables by The Times Higher .
