Instant regret

九月 17, 2015

Clean energy from coffee grounds sounds wonderful (“Week in higher education”, News, 10 September), but soaking the grounds in sodium hydroxide (made by electrolysis, very energy-intensive) and then heating the result to 900?C hardly seems environmentally friendly. Better a double espresso and then run on a treadmill for 10 minutes, methinks?
