The curse of the recurring acronym struck again this week with the exam-watchers of the Schools Examination and Assessment Council apparently implicated in the row over beef. The thought that there might be a link between beef and academic performance was rapidly superseded by realisation that this SEAC is in fact the Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee.
