Whether he would have appreciated his name being brandished for publicity purposes by the town's university has to be doubted - but we suspect he'd have liked Alan Sinfield's public lecture on "Oscar Wilde and the queer body" and would certainly have appreciated the quirk of fate that delivered the lecture announcement to The THES in the same post as a report on the deficiencies in prison education.
