Need to get to the bottom of that elusive research on excrement? Whether your quest is for the diet of those living in the Roman empire or honeybee faeces in Southeast Asia, an Alberta University professor can help.
Alwynne Beaudoin, curator of the Provincial Museum of Alberta, has created a bibliography of the bowel movement. It is called the Dung File and contains a catalogue of 256 research articles about preserved animal and plant remains found in latrines, as well as faeces from archaeological and paleo-environmental sites.
