At last the truth can be told of the final hours in office of the former higher education minister Tim Boswell. As the storm clouds cleared in the wake of John Major's leadership campaign victory, Mr Boswell was to be found lunching at the Higher Education Quality Council. "I stopped being education minister in the evening," he told assembled press officers and marketing types at the Higher Education External Relations Association annual retreat."It was the last thing I did - but I don't believe the two are actually related."
