Social scientists asked to comment on early career support

<榴莲视频 class="standfirst">Views of early career social scientists will be collected with a view to improve support for those starting out in academia

Early career social scientists have been invited to comment on the support they have received since completing their doctorate.

As part of an Economic and Social Research Council project to improve existing support for social scientists entering academia, the organisation is keen to find out what scholars think about the support currently available.

It also aims to examine why early career social scientists began doctoral studies, look at their current employment and future aspirations and their views on the availability and relevance of career advice and guidance.

The is being undertaken by the new , based at the UCL Institute of Education and run in partnership with Lancaster University and the University of Sheffield, which is funded jointly by the ESRC and the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Times Higher Education is also an associate member of the centre, which opens this month.

Any social scientists who were awarded their doctorate within the past eight years are asked to complete the survey at
