This is the number of full-time equivalent students at the university.
Student-to-staff ratio
This is the ratio of full-time equivalent students to the number of academic staff – those involved in teaching or research.
International students
The percentage of students originating from outside the country in which the university is located.
Female-to-male ratio
The ratio of female to male students at the university.

January 2022
After the publication of the World University Rankings 2022,?Imperial College London informed us that an incorrect distribution of their data at the subject level was considered for the ranking calculation. This matter was reviewed under our corrections policy and we agreed, at our discretion, to re-calculate?Imperial College London’s score based on a corrected data submission at the subject level. The amendments have not affected Imperial College London’s rank in the World University Rankings, but have impacted their subject rankings in: Clinical and Health (4th after correction; it was 3rd before) and Physical Sciences (13th after correction; it was joint 11th before). Imperial College London previously did not appear in the Computer Science subject ranking but now features at 11th place, while it has been removed from the Business and Economics and Education subject rankings as it no longer meets the eligibility criteria for these tables.
As per?THE's rankings correction policy, the amendment made only affects the university in question. We do not rerun the complete ranking. All other universities maintain their original rank.

Life Sciences and Physical Sciences
After the publication of the World University Rankings 2022, the?University of Stirling informed us that?it had submitted, and signed off, incorrect numbers of doctorates awarded in THE’s data portal. This matter was reviewed under our corrections policy, and we agreed, at our discretion, to re-calculate the University of Stirling’s score based on a corrected data submission. The university’s corrected position in the overall World University Rankings is 401-500. The corrected data has also affected its Life Sciences ranking, which is 151-175 after correction, and?its?Physical Sciences ranking, which is 201-250 after correction.
As per?THE's rankings correction policy, the amendment made only affects the university in question. We do not rerun the complete ranking. All other universities maintain their original rank.
Psychology
After the publication of the World University Rankings 2022, Radboud University Nijmegen informed us that it had submitted, and signed off, incorrect international staff numbers in?THE’s data portal. This matter was reviewed under our corrections policy, and we agreed, at our discretion, to re-calculate Radboud University Nijmegen’s score based on a corrected data submission. The university’s corrected position in the overall World University Rankings is 139. The corrected data has also affected their Psychology ranking, which is 57 after correction.

April 2023
An update to the statistical information for UK universities displayed in the table has been implemented. The number of students has been amended to reflect the HESA Standard Rounding Methodology and is now rounded to the nearest five. This is a display correction only and has no impact on the ranking calculation.
