Asia University Rankings 2016
The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2016 use the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings, but have been recalibrated to reflect the attributes of Asia’s institutions.
The universities are judged across all of their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook – to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available.
Singapore is home to the top two universities in Asia for the first time, while mainland China and Japan are the most-represented nations. There is also success for Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan.
This year’s table ranks 200 institutions from 22 countries, up from 100 institutions in 14 counties last year. Several nations including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Jordan, Oman, Pakistan and Qatar are represented for the first time in the four-year history of the ranking.
