Badr University in Cairo (BUC) was established in 2012 as the largest private university in Egypt.
BUC is located in Badr, a city in northeast Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The university is organised into 16 schools, which include business and economics, dentistry, engineering and technology, medicine, and political sciences. Each school offers a range of programmes and degrees that are accredited by the Egyptian Supreme Council.
BUC is fully equipped with sporting facilities such as basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, football fields, and a running track. There are a number of athletic teams that students can join while studying at the university.
BUC Science Academy is an interdisciplinary scientific research centre. It was established to provide solutions to global challenges related to health, science and the humanities. The academy has four main research areas: life sciences and global health; engineering; agriculture and food security; and humanities and social sciences and community development.
The Centre for Global Affairs is the first of its kind in Egypt. It is an independent centre for analysis, consulting and research that contributes to policy-making on a local and global level. The centre has four main goals: raise political awareness, present transparent and ground-breaking research, consult on and contribute to policy and decision making, and build future leadership.
