Based in Tehran, the capital of Iran, the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences was founded in 1992.
A specialised university in fields of rehabilitation, welfare, social health, and mental health, the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences has four faculties offering a variety of courses in those arenas at undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD level. Specialisations include speech therapy, nursing, counselling, physiotherapy, genetics, audiology and ergonomics.
To supplement studies, the university has teaching hospitals where students gain real life experience outside of the classroom. These are Razi Psychiatric Hospital, Rofeideh Rehabilitation Hospital, Asma Rehabilitation Hospital and NezamMafi Rehabilitation Hospital.
In addition, there are eight research centres on campus specialising in a variety of topics including social welfare, emergency and disaster, genetics and substance abuse.
There’s also a University Incubator, which has been designed to support small and medium enterprises and businesses in various fields of technology leading to economic progress.
On campus, students will find a comprehensive library at the heart of the campus, as well as dormitories.
There’s a large sports hall, soccer field and gymnasium as well as walking, running and cycling routes around the campus.
The University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences has established relationships with universities around the world, carrying out various exchange activities such as academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and the opportunity for students to study abroad.
