Aswan University is located in the city of Aswan and was established as an independent institution in 2012. Prior to this it operated as a branch of Assuit University.

Although it receives support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Japanese Supporting University Consortium, the university is entirely administered by the Egyptian government.
The university offers bachelor's, master's, and PhD programmes across six schools, encompassing fields like electronics, engineering, applied sciences, and business. It also provides "Study in Japan" programmes for PhD students to conduct research in Japan.
E-JUST's summer programme promotes cultural understanding between Japan and Egypt, enabling students to explore both cultures, learn Egyptian and Arabic dialects, and visit iconic landmarks.Ìý
