Study in Mexico

Mexico, the ancient home of the Mayans and Aztecs, is rich in cultural and natural beauty. It has the most UNESCO heritage sites of any country in the whole of the Americas. These sites range from the crumbling temples of Teotihuacan to the whale sanctuary of El Vizcaino.

The country's fascinating geography features deserts, tropical rainforests, mountains and beaches, with surprising variations in climate between different zones. When the Spanish invaded in the 16th century, they brought their language and culture to the continent. While Spanish is the primary language spoken today, the indigenous culture is still very clearly seen in art, fashion, and, of course, food.

Mexican cuisine has deservedly found global fame for its bold flavours. Mexican restaurants can be found in every corner of the globe, but tasting home-cooked enchiladas and tacos is a whole new experience. Sports fans may know the country best for its football team, although the Spanish also brought the controversial tradition of bullfighting with them to the new world, where it remains popular among locals.

Mexico claims a large share of the top universities in Latin America. Its universities have a reputation for excellence in business, making their graduates sought after by top companies. The National Autonomous University of Mexico consistently ranks among the world¡¯s best universities. Its main campus is itself a UNESCO heritage site, crammed with sculptures and murals. The Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education is one of the most prestigious technical institutions in the world, and is renowned for its high-class research.
