Dene Mullen joined Times Higher Educuation in 2020 as deputy news editor and transitioned to the THE Campus team in 2021 where, as content editor, he commissions and edits opinion pieces. He previously spent 10 years living and working in North Africa and Southeast Asia, where he worked as a freelance journalist, magazine editor-in-chief and national newspaper section editor in Egypt and across Southeast Asia for the BBC, Daily Beast and Southeast Asia Globe.
