Ahead of the United Nations’ Climate Change Conference, two university leaders spoke with us about the sustainability initiatives at their institutions and how universities can be leaders in tackling the climate crisis. 

Katherine Fleming, the provost at NYU, and Tercio Ambrizzi, a professor of climatology and superintendent of environmental management at the University of São Paulo, shared effective strategies for supporting sustainability. We also asked them both what they expect from the discussions at COP26 in Glasgow over the next couple of weeks.
