I have noticed that in medicine, you have placed UC Berkeley at #5. Please note that Berkeley does not have a medical school, it is called UCSF (UC San Francisco), which is one of topmost medical school. Hope you make this correction, otherwise it is very confusing. Please also note that although UC Berkeley and UCSF offer some joint courses, these are two distinctly different universities and should not be mixed up. Congratulations on the great work you guys are doing!
Thanks for your comment ChrisB, but we are very much aware of the distinction between UC Berkeley and UCSF and we have not made any mix up. Firstly, UCSF is not eligible for inclusion in these rankings because it does not teach undergraduates so we can not fairly rank it according to our methodology. Secondly, UC Berkeley has sufficient activity in the broad areas defined under "clinical, pre-clinical and health" to enable it to be included in the rankings. The subjects that are included within our definition of “clinical, pre-clinical and health” are broader than just medicine . UC Berkeley, for example, has courses on the following, all of which are included in our definition of this field: - Health And Medical Sciences - Health Sciences, Environmental - Health Services And Policy Analysis - Endocrinology - Epidemiology - Infectious Diseases And Immunity - Toxicology - Optometry - Public Health These are in addition to the joint medical program that they have with UC San Francisco. Best wishes.
