Victims of the terrorist attack on the Hebrew University of Jerusalem included Jews, Arabs and foreign students ("Bomb shakes Hebrew University", THES , August 2). This reinforces the view that Israeli universities are havens where students can mix freely. It also underlines how inappropriate the academic boycott is. Israeli academics need help to keep this interaction going in the interests of long-term peace.
