Your article "OU professor revives call for Israel boycott" (July 16) discusses one man's call for a boycott of Israeli scientists and academics based on politics. This is contrary to the tenets of academic and scientific freedom, which call for tolerance and cooperation among colleagues for mutual advancement. What goal is served by squelching the work of cancer researchers, for example?
