Concern over London's research resources 2

Recent correspondence on the future of the University of London's library has focused on the Senate House Library itself. But the Research Library Services also include the libraries of the institutes that make up the university's School of Advanced Study.

These are a major resource for the wider scholarly community, nationally and internationally, as recognised in the funding council's annual grant. The cuts in provision that will follow from the plan that has been adopted by the University of London threaten seriously to diminish an internationally and nationally significant research resource.
