Jacques Ranci¨¨re's arguments about genuine democracy highlight the issue of reconciling it with morality (Features, March 16), If everyone is to have equal political power, that may work if most people are intelligent and virtuous, but not if they are stupid and evil. Some elite governments have introduced good measures the people would not have voted for.
