I hope John Black (Letters, THES , June 21) is wrong when he thinks of himself as past his sell-by date at 55. By 2006, age discrimination will be unlawful. But education will be excluded. The Institute for Public Policy Research argues in a forthcoming publication that it should be included. I hope academics will support this.
