Steve Fuller urges us to judge the continued viability of proposals from the Robbins report in terms of the best exploitation of ¡°human capital - or talent¡± (¡°Intellectual fruit of neoliberal seedbed¡±, Letters, 24 October). For?talent, why not use the concept of intelligence, which is at least measurable?
The idea of supporting ¡°non-university education that is sensitive to other forms of talent¡± could be strengthened by employing Howard Gardner¡¯s notion of ¡°multiple intelligences¡±. This would satisfy those educationalists who are fearful of g, the well-established general factor of intelligence.
