Get them, keep them 2

So, despite the best efforts of those of us who engage in "widening participation" events, access to university remains stubbornly inegalitarian ("Access initiatives reach an impasse", July 21).

Here is a three-point plan to improve matters. First, take public widening participation money away from universities and give it to schools with low higher education participation rates, so they can employ the best teachers. Second, prevent admissions tutors from knowing which school an applicant comes from. And, third, move to a post-qualification admissions system.
