In his elegant review of Stefan Collini's latest book, Ronan McDonald is wrong to dismiss Terry Eagleton's challenge to Collini's politics as "hollow" (Book of the Week, 28 February). One fine example of a systematic critique of the political complexities and dangers of persistently inscribing "the intellectual" as male and white and Western is Angie Sandhu's Intellectuals and the People (2007). I hope it will be your next book of the week.
