The "questions over whether the system should have a reliance on internal rotations" ("Sector fails to assist its former pro v-cs", December 7) should be asked about academic management roles generally. Rotations benefit only vice-chancellors and their "professional" management advisers, and academics¡¯ attendant reluctance to engage with these roles serves only to marginalise academics in consideration of the pressing issues the sector faces, including how best to use available resources.
