Nigel Probert (Letters, 3 October) opposes student feedback on the grounds that the teacher¡¯s intuition is ¡°a natural process more immediate and more valuable than formal feedback¡±. Sir Karl Popper definitively demolished this view some decades ago when he observed: ¡°Intuition prevents some people from imagining that anyone could possibly dislike chocolate.¡±
