The closure of fine art at Lincoln University's Hull campus and at Hull University ("Art students flounder after school axes places", THES , August 23) leaves local students bereft of a degree course nearby.
Both universities boast strong regional commitments but these decisions were made without consultation. The argument for university decision-making coming under proposed regional assembly scrutiny is strengthened by these events.
