ILT will live on 2

The ILTHE is not "doomed" by the white paper proposals for a new academy. It should be a major contributor to its success. In a very short time, the institute has established itself as a professional body steered by and accountable to its members, independent of their employment status.

This is a vital platform from which to conduct a dialogue about professional standards and the enhancement of teaching and learning. The academy must draw upon this individual, independent membership if it is to retain the confidence of the profession.
