Stephen Logan is right that English readers neglect modern Welsh writing (Features, THES , April 26). But writers with wide appeal such as Kate Roberts and Sheenagh Pugh do not appear in English bookshops and are usually published by Welsh publishers.

Until English readers know what they are missing they will not start ordering such books.
