Although I no longer have a formal connection to the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, I must correct an inaccuracy concerning comments attributed to me ("Famous for the wrong reasons", THES , June 15). The article quoted from documents of mine that have found their way into the media domain. But neither document was, as stated, an "open letter" of resignation to the Lipa council.
One was a letter of concern sent privately to members of the council. The other was an internal note to Lipa staff written at the time of my resignation several weeks later. My actual letter of resignation was formal, short and, I hope, will remain private.
