One minor correction to Adam James's piece on our homicide in Britain research ("It really was murder at the office today, darling", THES , November 3). We did not "help set up Scotland's first women's refuge". The first was established by Scottish Women's Aid in the early 1970s and we began the first research on violence against women in Britain within that refuge.
