Letter: Short-cited

January 19, 2001

I was distressed to read Mark Griffiths's concern about his absence from The THES's top media stars of 2000.

I wish to register a similar complaint, having received citations in journals of national record that would put me in your top ten. These include Motorway Service Station Catering Quarterly (6), Cone Hotline Review (147), Hosiery! (2), The Saffron Walden Gazette, Launderettes of Nottingham Trent, Compost Monthly, Beards and Beardmen and Applied Spectacles.

I hope you will set the record straight, partly to salvage your own reputation for accuracy and partly because I am a candidate for the exciting new Captain Oates chair in psychology you presciently, if prematurely, advertised (Readers' reactions, THES, January 12).
