Steven Schwartz believes elections are outdated because people vote only for those who will give them what they want. So that's the problem with democracy. He also maintains managers must be selected and hired so that they can be fired. But who selects? Presumably not us grubby, non-21st century academics who will pick only those who will give us what we want.
