The Royal Society did not commission the work carried out by Evidence Ltd and, although the analysis was communicated to him, Lord May's analyses and conclusions were his own. While the Evidence work is entirely consonant with the Royal Society's independent analyses, the company's analyses were carried out pro bono as a contribution to the debate on the future of the dual-support system. We apologise to the Royal Society for the incorrect impression given by any statement from the company.
