On professors' lack of leadership and logic (3 of 3)

Bruce Macfarlane writes, "The importance of professors acting as public intellectuals cannot be underestimated." While this statement is probably true, it sits oddly with the rest of his article. Could it be that the logical abilities of professors of higher education cannot be underestimated either?
